Last week I asked "What percentage of page views click on the Twitter or Facebook share buttons on Web pages?" Since I wasn't able to find solid data online, it was great to see a lot of replies come in.
Without further ado, the average was 0.25% across the 18M+ page views people referenced. This is hardly scientific but might provide a decent baseline as people from social products, government, higher education, and more contributed stats. Here's some of the more complete ones:
- 0.2% 6.8 million page views 14,078 share link clicks. (source)
- 0.6% 4.7 million page views 30,000 share link clicks. (source)
- 0.17% 8 million page views 14,000 share link clicks. (source)
- 0.07% 450,000 visits 298 share link clicks. (source)
- 0.085% 46,000 page views 39 share link clicks. (source)
- 0.075% 45,000 page views 34 share link clicks. (source)
- 0.085% 13,000 visits 11 share link clicks. (source)
- 0.77% 10,182 page views 79 share link clicks. (source)
- 0.5% 8,000 visits 34 share link clicks. (source)
- 0.01% less than 0.01% click on share on Twitter/FB (source)
- 0.29% on 1,981 shares (source)
