| Project 3
Exploring a Specific Topic in More Depth
The third project is a focused article or research paper on a specific
topic. The choice of topics is up to you (provided that it is related
to what we cover in class). I’ll meet individually with each student
to discuss his or her ideas, outlines, and rough drafts throughout the
second half of the semester.
Project three will mostly be done outside of class. You'll need to
do extensive research on your topic. Make use of the readings we used
during the first half of the semester and search the World Wide Web.
(For example, here are some information
architecture resources.)
While our first and second projects will mostly benefit those in our
class, the third project is designed to be meaningful and useful to
people outside of the classroom. That means your work will be up for
review by the outside design community and will be published online.
Sample Formats
As always, try to keep your writing concise and to the point. Ideally,
your paper should be somewhere around 3-5 pages. Here are some sample
formats to help you.
