Jazzfest Archives Web Design
Completed: June 2003

Jazzfest Archives is an online art exhibit dedicated to sharing the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival experience through the photography of Dino Perrucci. The scale of Dino's photography (during the 2003 Jazz Festival, he photographed 97 different live music performances) reflects the scale of the festival itself.

LukeW solution:
A dynamic database-driven structure allows visitors to search and browse the archives (over 1,300 photos) in many ways. A direct search by venue, date, or artists can be followed up by casual browsing (almost all the information is cross-linked) or a "surprise" (random selection). As part of the development, Applescript was used to automatically generate the hundreds of thumbnails and magnified images that make up the site. The visual design of the Web site and logo is directly influenced by the swampy "cajun" atmosphere of New Orleans.

Services Provided:
Project Definition, Information Organization, Visual Design, and Front-end Development.
