Charlie Hunter
Charlie Hunter began his musical career at age 12 in Berkeley, CA, when he
bought his first guitar for 7 dollars. Taking lessons from Joe Satriani a
few years later, Hunter began to experiment with all kinds of music before
settling on jazz. Keeping the energy high with music from influences like
James Brown and Stevie Wonder, Hunter is also able to bring the traditional
jazz of John Coltrane and Charlie Parker while keeping the crowd on its
feet. Working to introduce the younger generation to the beauty of jazz,
Hunter has recorded with artists like Les Claypool from Primus, and has even
covered a song by Nirvana. Now working with an 8-string guitar, Hunter is
revolutionizing the concept of jazz.
